Pick your favourite song. It can be from any decade and in any style. Just make sure there is NO SWEARING in the lyrics! You will create your own resources sheet so that your band can recreate that track in a practical lesson. Follow the steps below to complete this task 1. Pick your song 2. Search for the lyrics with chords on the internet (words with chord letters above it) 3. Take each chord indidually. Search for how to play that chord on the Guitar/Piano/Ukulele etc. When you have a chord diagram, put that onto your sheet. 4. You only have 2 sides of A4 to work with (so that when it prints back to back, its on 1 sheet), so keep things compact 5. Try to include, where you can, the music notation for the melody. Then try to add the correct notes to help yourself and others
When you have completed your sheet, send it to Miss Ward via the Rock Futures website - the best ones will be added to the online RF resources!
Musicland Theme Park Design
Your Band
1. For the rest of this year, you will be working as a 'band'. Your band will need a name. Think about what style of music you'll be performing and come up with a name for your band.
2. Now you have your name, it needs designing, as does the front of your album cover. Think about what types of songs you'll cover on your album this year. Design your album cover, including your band name and album name. Try to include some kind of logo (think One Directions '1D').
You might need to do a rough copy first and then copy it up neatly. Add colour too.
Remember, this WILL be used to submit your recordings at the end of the year!
3. Plan your 'dream' gig. What would be an ideal venue for your debut gig? Would it be a massive stadium of a small intimate venue? Would it be mega loud? Or a live lounge style acoustic set? Which bands would you invite to be your warm up acts? ...and why? What would each of your band members wear? (draw your outfits) Would you wear matching clothes? Would they compliment each other? Would you all look totally different? What effects would you have at your gig? ie platforms out into the audience? Fly wires? Smoke effects? Which songs from your album would these effects be used in?
Finally, create a poster to advertise your 'dream' gig. Include band name, album name, venue, warm up acts etc
Remember to put your name and form on all of your work!
